Vines, Pines, and Inclines

Third Annual Trail Run Slated For Sat. August 25th, 2012!

Want to spend an evening running among succulent grapes hanging from the vine in beautiful northwest Bloomington? We've got it all—a lovely setting, a challenging course and fun festivities afterward. Join us for the 3rd running of Vines, Pines and Inclines benefitting the Bloomington Blades Youth Hockey Association. Once again we will offer a 5 mile trail run on the infamous Double Black Diamond Trail of Death, the Vinyard Walk, and the Kids One Mile Runway Fun Run.

Great family fun and all for a good cause!

Distances

The Trail Run is 5 miles. It starts in the vineyard, runs into the surrounding wooded area and ends back in the vineyard. There is one steep hill, 1/10th of a mile in length at approximately 4 miles into the course. The trail is wide enough for multiple side-by-side runners. There are narrow water hazards, and mud will be present if rain occurs within 3 days of the event. 80% of the surface is grass.

The Vineyard Walk will go around the main portion of the vineyard. The participants will not enter into any of the wooded areas. The surface is 100% mown grass.

The Runway Fun Run will begin and end near the start of the grass-strip runway which is located on the grounds of the vineyard. The participants will run from one end of the runway to the other and back. Approximately one mile.

Fees and registration information to be posted soon!

Second Annual Trail Run Benefiting Bloomington Blades Hockey A Big Success!

It was beautiful, warm summer evening when the 2nd Annual Vines, Pines and Inclines kicked off. Close to 300 participants either ran through the woods, walked among the vines, or sprinted down and back up the runway. The event brought in over $10,000, much of which goes straight to the Blades program to help offset fees. Back for another year of punishment, Coach Scott Nolting ran the increased distance of 5 miles for the Trail Run in full hockey gear! Scott had a little more padding around his feet, but still loves his Bauer skates! Scott's commitment to raising funds for the Blades program is truly appreciated by all. Thanks to all of our sponsors and donors to making this another great fundraiser for our program.

2010 Creekbend Vinyard Trail Run a Success!

Vines, Pines and Inclines

Benefiting the Bloomington Blades Youth Hockey Association

This inaugural fundraising event brought out over 220 participants from serious competitors for the Trail Run, walkers who enjoyed a 2 mile stroll around Creekbend Vineyard, and kids blazing down the runway for the 1 mile Fun Run. It was a beautiful, chilly morning which soon became a positive for Trail Runners who slogged up the Double Black Diamond Hill of Death! The highlight of the Trail Run was former IU Hockey assistant coach and player, Scott Nolting, who completed the run in full hockey gear—yes, including skates! In all, the event—which featured food and wine tasting, music and a silent auction—contributed over $5,000 to the Blades Hockey program to help offset fees for all teams. This was all made possible through generous sponsorships and donations from businesses and individuals in the community. Thank you all for supporting youth hockey in Bloomington!
