Try Hockey For Free 2012

posted Jul 14, 2013, 2:47 PM by Allan Streib   [ updated Jul 14, 2013, 2:49 PM ]
November 3rd was Try Hockey For Free day. This program is designed to provide youth hockey associations a national platform to introduce new kids to the sport, and is a joint effort between USA Hockey, the National Hockey League, NHL member clubs and OneGoal. We had 38 boys and girls in attendance—this is triple (or more) our attendance last year! Feedback has been very positive!

Thanks to participating BBYHA coaches Jay Freund, Will Spalding, Chris Cockerham, Pete Polverini, Hannah Robbins and Heather Love; to Indiana University Hockey players Mike Grainda and Greg Rachke for their help; and to Holly Davis, Lori Patzner, Alyson Baer, Amy Bretts, Kim Berkley, Tom Pope, and Kathleen Oliver for their work to pull everything together. A big thanks to all participants for your help in growing Bloomington Hockey! A special thanks to the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department for donating the ice time.

Information about the 2013 Try Hockey for Free day is coming soon!
