Bloomington Parks and Recreation House Hockey

HOW DO I KNOW IF HOUSE HOCKEY IS FOR ME?

Bloomington Parks & Rec offers 3 levels of house hockey.

Hockey Initiation

Not sure if hockey is for you, but want to find out? Hockey Initiation  is designed to provide a safe and positive introduction to hockey for beginning players with minimal equipment

Hockey Initiation focuses on beginner skating skills, puck-handling, passing, and shooting. Skaters only need a hockey stick (wood preferred), a bicycle helmet, and a pair of gloves.

*No skating experience necessary.

U6 Hockey

Ready to get started in organized hockey? The Bloomington Parks and Recreation U6 House Hockey program is the entry-level for players who are 6 years old or younger at the end of the calendar year.

A step up from Hockey Initiation, 6U House players wear full equipment, which can be rented from the Blades for minimal cost.

U8/U10/U12 House Hockey

The Bloomington Parks and Recreation U8/U10/U12 House Hockey program provides a fun environment for local hockey training and offers inexpensive, twice-weekly ice time with the option to rent a full set of gear.

BBYHA Players in the U8, U10, and U12 divisions must register for Bloomington Parks and Rec House Hockey. You can register on the Parks and Recreation website (https://bloomington.in.gov/recreation/sports/hockey).
